Western Province Witnesses Signing of Two Major Road Contracts Under the Ok Tedi Tax Credit Scheme

Today we withnessed the signing of two roads conracts funded under the Ok Tax Credit Scheme.

1. Tapila Wipim Morehead Weam Road
2. Kukuzaba June River - 84km, a section of the Kiunga Aimbak Road. OTML has agreed to fund this secrion of the road while National Government and FRPG do the other sections of this road.

The next project in the pipeline is the West Bank Road. That"s the road that runs on the West Bank of Alice River starting from Okma, Hukim Kunkim, Butmabin, Komokbin, Yoki, Dome to Atkamba that links up with the Kokonda Road that links up to Kiunga. If all goes  well, the contract for this project is expected to be signed before the year ends

I'd like to thank the tireless  efforts of the TCS team, Ok Tedi Miniing Limited, the MD, the Senior Executive team and all the employees and contractors of Ok Tedi Mine.

Importantly, I'd like to thank you all the landowners of the Mine and the CMCA Communities as well.

I'd like to also thank all the MPs of Western Province, the 4 DDAs members of my PEC and JBPC  members and the Provincial Administration for their part in the approval process.

Its a team work and because of the team effort we are able to attrack such impact projects for our people. We will continue tp work together for our people.
